Free Storytelling Class at Merritt Island Public Library — October 10
A free, relaxed hour of guided storytelling, starting at 10 am. Bring yourself, bring a friend, bring a parent. We’ll hand out prompts and help you start capturing the stories worth keeping. No experience needed, and each class stands on its own, so it’s fine if this is the only one you make.
What to expect
The class uses specific, low-pressure prompts to help you find the stories in your family that are most worth preserving. We’ll talk about how to ask follow-up questions, what to do when a relative insists they have nothing interesting to share, and simple ways to save the conversation with a phone or a notebook.
You’re welcome to participate, just listen, or bring a family member and try the prompts together. No writing or genealogy experience is needed, and nobody is required to share a private story with the room. The goal is to leave with a first step you can actually manage and a short list of questions to use at home.
Bring a notebook if you like, but all essential materials and prompts will be provided during the session.
